Detailed shoe scoring
What is stability?

How steady and controlled the shoe feels when you land.

Look for wobbling, ankle confidence, cornering, and whether the shoe still feels secure when you get tired.

Score guide: 1 = very unstable; 10 = very stable.

What is responsiveness?

How quickly the shoe feels like it gives energy back after landing.

Look for a snappy push-off, quick transitions, and whether the shoe feels lively instead of flat or dead.

Score guide: 1 = very dull; 10 = highly responsive.

What is cushioning?

How much impact protection and softness the shoe gives you.

Look at how your legs feel on longer runs, whether landings feel harsh, and whether the foam bottoms out.

Score guide: 1 = very firm with little protection; 10 = highly cushioned.

What is comfort?

How good the shoe feels while you are actually running, not just standing still.

Look for rubbing, hot spots, pressure, toe room, heel slip, and whether you stop thinking about the shoe.

Score guide: 1 = very uncomfortable; 10 = exceptionally comfortable.

What is durability?

How well the shoe holds up after repeated runs.

Look at outsole wear, foam flattening, upper tears, heel padding, and whether the ride changes too quickly.

Score guide: 1 = wears out very quickly; 10 = very durable.

What is design?

How much you like the shoe's look and practical details.

Look at colors, shape, upper design, laces, visibility details, and whether it feels like a shoe you want to wear.

Score guide: 1 = strongly dislike the design; 10 = love the design and details.
