Getting Started
Go to Settings and connect your Garmin account. Once linked, your activities sync automatically, no manual uploads needed. New runs typically appear within minutes of syncing to Garmin Connect.
Yes. Go to New Analysis, select your .FIT file from Garmin Connect or Stryd PowerCenter. We support .FIT files from Garmin activities with Running Dynamics and from Stryd power meters.
Garmin runs must include Running Dynamics. Some Garmin watches can record wrist-based Running Dynamics; other models need a compatible accessory such as HRM-Pro, HRM-Pro Plus, HRM-Run, HRM-Tri, or Running Dynamics Pod. Stryd FIT files from a power meter are also supported.
Your Profile
A multi-metric visual breakdown of your running form across pace brackets. It shows six key metrics: Cadence, Ground Contact Time (GCT), Vertical Oscillation (VO), Vertical Ratio (VR), Duty Factor (DF), and Loading Pattern Index (LPI), and how each changes as you run faster or slower.
Shows how your body responds to sustained effort. It tracks Heart Rate and GCT drift patterns across your runs, grouped by fatigue level (daily, tempo, race). The Economy Impact section estimates how fatigue affects your running economy over different distances.
A deep-dive into a single activity's mechanical drift. Place analysis windows on your run to measure GCT drift precisely, identifying exactly where fatigue kicks in and how your form changes over time. You can drag the windows and save custom positions.
A table of all your processed runs showing key stats like distance, pace, GCT drift, run type, and shoes worn. Click any row to load that activity in the Drift Inspector for deeper analysis.
Shoe Recommendations
Shoes that closely match your biomechanical profile. Based on our analysis, they offer the best fit for your running form and mechanics.
Alternatives that align with your biomechanics but with less supporting data than Great Picks. They may differ in some characteristics, yet should still perform well for your running style.
Custom shoe checks are included with Run-It Pro. Run-It Basic users still get full daily, tempo, and race recommendations, but selecting specific shoe models to test requires an active subscription.
The Run-It Basic plan includes Garmin sync, Garmin/Stryd FIT import, activity history, dashboard, full 3 Great + 3 Good recommendations for daily/tempo/race use, custom analysis windows, and unlimited shoe management. Duty Factor and Vertical Ratio are shown as locked previews.
Strava Sync
Go to Profile, find the Strava Sync section, and connect your account. Run-It will pull your Strava shoe data and recent running stats automatically.
After syncing, you need to confirm imported shoes in Profile. Until confirmed, they appear as a placeholder in the shoe column. Open the Strava Sync section, review the imported shoes, and confirm them.
Billing & Plans
The Run-It Basic plan includes Garmin sync, Garmin/Stryd FIT import, Strava shoe sync, activity history, dashboard, full 3 Great + 3 Good recommendations for daily/tempo/race use, custom analysis windows, and unlimited shoe management.
Run-It Pro starts at €6.67/month when billed yearly, or €8.99/month billed monthly, VAT included. It unlocks extra mechanics metrics, including Duty Factor, Vertical Ratio, and GCT, custom database shoe checks, shoe efficiency comparisons, and race-distance filters for saved-shoe efficiency results and shoe recommendations.
Go to Settings to view your current plan. Web Pro subscriptions are managed through Stripe's secure billing portal, where you can update payment details, review invoices, change plans, or cancel. Changes take effect at the end of your current billing cycle.
Technical Help
Ensure your file is a valid .FIT format exported from Garmin Connect (the web version, not the app). The file must contain Running Dynamics data. If the problem persists, try re-exporting the file or contact support.
Stripe can take a few moments to update your Pro entitlement. Refresh the current page, then check Settings to confirm your plan shows Run-It Pro. If features are still locked after 5 minutes, contact brechtc@run-it.be with your account email and checkout time.
Check that your Garmin account is connected in Settings. New activities typically appear within minutes of syncing to Garmin Connect. If nothing shows up, try disconnecting and reconnecting your Garmin account.
